By reconfiguring familiar forms into unexpected relationships, Aras creates surreal worlds that invite viewers to question perception and rediscover the interconnectedness of life.

Aras was founded in 2014 and is a Belgian visual artist working primarily in drawing and painting. Her practice investigates the fluid relationships between humanity, nature and perception through intricate surreal compositions. By merging anatomical structures, botanical forms, animals and everyday objects, she constructs hybrid ecosystems that challenge conventional distinctions between the familiar and the imagined.

Her work encourages slow observation, inviting viewers to discover new connections between the microscopic and the cosmic, the organic and the artificial, memory and imagination. Meticulous craftsmanship forms the foundation of her practice, allowing impossible worlds to appear both convincing and strangely familiar.

Through layered symbolism and carefully constructed compositions, she explores ambiguity as a space for curiosity, reflection and wonder.

"Art is the elixir of life for me."
